FILNYC - Giro
Giro was invited to be part of the 6th edition of FILNYC, "La Feria Internacional del Libro de la Ciudad de Nueva York", an initiative of the Mexican Institute of CUNY, that celebrates Spanish literature in the United States, in a space of convergence that brings together book professionals, writers, editors and publishing houses, librarians and their audiences.
During the fair at Borough of Manhattan Community College (Tribeca, Manhattan, NY) a workshop was held in a space shared with other artists such as the Cielo Tejido collective and the publishing house Ate con Queso.
“Giro: which dreams move your body?” is a mobile library-workshop enabling conversations and bookmaking inspired by the 'movimiento cartonero' (cardboard movement), a 20+ year old tradition in Latin America, that reveals important aspects of our culture, like improvisation and collectivity.
