Adult and Youth Literacy

I was a volunteer teacher in the Adult and Youth Literacy project at the Santa Monica Parish, in Rio de Janeiro. This project serves people who cannot read or write through evening classes, helping them gain new opportunities through formal education.

The challenge was to conduct activities that related to their adult realities without making the learning process childish.

I worked with everyday materials such as cardboard boxes and current newspaper articles. In our discussions and assignments, we collectively explored the theme of desires, which is one of my research interests.
